A early morning walk along the lagoons edge was almost always rewarded with wonderful painting material. This watercolor of a single fishermans canoe with one of the best of fishermen on board was typical of the beauty to be seen along the beach.
For many reasons 'running off to the islands' seldom works- for lots of people the 'odds' seem set against it suceeding. In my case it did work-for almost 30 years I lived and painted on the island of Rarotonga- in the Cook Islands-near Tahiti. This blog will tell part of 'why' it did work for me.
